Professor Placid is an Associate Professor of Law at Florida Gulf University, Ft. Myers, Florida where he teaches a variety of tax law courses. He practiced tax law as a lawyer and CPA for over thirty years. He served as Director of the LLM Income Tax Program at the University of Miami for several years. Professor Placid received a Masters of Science in Management (Taxation) from Florida International University and his J.D. degree from University of Miami School of Law.
