Professor Placid is an Associate Professor of Law at Florida Gulf University, Ft. Myers, Florida where he teaches a variety of tax law courses. He practiced tax law as a lawyer and CPA for over thirty years. He served as Director of the LLM Income Tax Program at the University of Miami for several years. Professor Placid received a Masters of Science in Management (Taxation) from Florida International University and his J.D. degree from University of Miami School of Law. He has contributed tax articles to numerous publications and is the co-author of a recent article in the Tax Adviser entitled Tax Preparer Penalties: Who is a Preparer?
